My very first kayak one star!!
26 - 270714: Kayaking 1 Star Course
I cant believed that I signed up this course, it was freaky tedious, a test on courage and strength. The most amazing part is that I survived in this course with a certificate! It was a 2 days course on both weekends, first day and we were late due to the morning problem of having a tummy upset. We landed ourselves in the cab, and realised we made the wrong turn as the taxi driver was unsure. Never mind.
Must really thanks Emily for being so onz to sign up together with me, as it was feeling out of place without her. All the participants seem to be from Jiahan's committee lor~~~~ Chey~ Alot of skills being taught to us has to be practiced in pairs, yup!
It was definitely a whole new experience for me, erm, cause we get to have our lunch in our wet attire, not ONCE, but TWICE! Cause we did kayaking before, so the controlling of the direction not a problem to us. Fortunately, we have the knowledge and experience of it, if not I will be the top student from the last. In our group, there was a girl who faced much difficult than us. I can totally sense the stress from her when she was the last one trying hard to paddle in to form the raft. Definitely not the best feeling of being the last one.
At the point of time, whatever trick our trainer asked us to try it's really training for army lor. Ask me to climb up to the kayak from the water, rescue capsized kayak, grabbing 3 paddles & maintaining balance of my buddy's kayak, pulling the boat to the shore & pushing back to the sea, emptying water using see-saw method, transporting the kayak from the WV to the shore... No joke. Because of me, we did lots of stand up and squatting! LOL! *Carrying the kayak & putting it down to rest my breaking arms*
Despite the difficult in some way, Emily really went through the whole course without any complaints.. SO PROUD OF HER!! *Claps* Because of her proactiveness, I can skip the capsizing!!! My heart really went all the way down to the calmness of the calmness state. I really fear the feeling of being in the water without any backup of "staying alive", is like you capsize in the water without any oxygen tank leh, I felt so insecure over it.
After the first day of training, I think I hardly survive. Not only the sunburnt, but the aching that does not help putting me to sleep soundly. I even have to put some oilment which at least do some relief to my muscles.
Our trainer G or J, tested us on our skills. It was good la, cause he can correct us if we did not apply it correctly. Just try lor, cannot then try again. No harm trying unless you suay and capsized! Even though we were placed in the calm water, frankly speaking I almost capsized twice. LOL!
Last day the best, despite it's the first day of the 7th month, everything went on smoothly. It's more slacking, trainer unoffically dismissed the rest while the 2 of us still paddling in the sea. Wah, I was damn surprised to view so many planes landing during a short period of time! We washed our own kayaks despite trainer volunteered to wash for us, but it not very nice since he already changed into his dry clothing we decided to do it ourselves. It was quite fun! Everyone in their dry clothing but we were only started washing the kayaks... Never mind la~ In the end, we stood outside the room listening to the trainer and while he presented the certificate to us.
Seated all the way till dinner time! The food erm, not that nice.
We were thinking to train down to find Ynez since we really have plenty of time!! But when we were at Tenah Merah MRT, we decided to go airport to slack sua~ Off we alighted so abruptly! HAHAHA!!
Entering airport is like having the feel of going overseas, awwwww... Miss the feel of it, was asking myself, "When will be the next time?" HAHA!
We were here! ^^
We were slacking away, and we saw a bunch of kids playing around this irregular shapes of platform. Our emily has this very strong occupational 'disease', she was analysing the kids' behaviour. It was a joke when she realised that she put in too much feedback about them, haha!~ I know it's natural~
In the MRT~!
After that we took the train to Paya Lebar MRT to meet ynez!!! Even though it was a short meet up, but thanks! It was great!
Eating and tasting the malay food, it was interesting! :D
Cant wait for the next meet up!!!
