While I was facing an upsetting and unimaginable situation, I am very thankful I chance upon a giant panda, Fubao (福宝)!
She is a giant panda born in South Korea, she soon will be four in July this year! I started following her videos all thanks to her two wonderful keepers!!! Her videos really occupied my mind, replacing all the negative thoughts with smiles and laughters! And now, she has to return to her homeland, China. As giant panda is China’s treasure, they are usually on loan to other countries including Fubao’s parents, Lebao & Aibao. Offsprings of the loaned panda couples will have to return to China before their maturity (usually at 4 years old) as they need to find their partners for breeding. Fubao is not excluded as well, and she is leaving South Korea on 3 Apr, fortunately, she will accompanied by one of two keepers, Mr Kang.
Thinking about the departure among Fubao, her family and all the zookeepers who poured in all their hearts in taking care of her made me feel saddening.
Not all giant pandas enjoyed smooth sailing throughout their lives, some may have been abused, given poor environment to live in, dispatch in the wild as survival training (which I felt is quite bullshit when young panda isn’t even trained or empowered with skills) and other instances which is not publicised.
I will like to take this chance to share, even if you do not like or adore animals but at least don’t abused them. Just leave them alone. They are also made of flesh and blood, despite we are different living entities and speak differently but they do feel pain and have emotions. Us, as a human being do not stand being stared at or being criticised, what makes us have the right to do all these on others? Even if the other party is an animal.
Fubao is a super adorable panda, her humane behaviours is partly due to the love she has received from her surroundings! How you treat an animal, it can feel if you are a friend or a foe.
Let’s leave them alone or care for them!!
Fubao, I will continue to watch you grow and emerge to be a wonderful full grown panda!! By doing well on your own, you are bringing comfort to those who loved you! Including your grandpas! FIGHTING!
